It’s The Sun, Stupid: CERN Confirms

3 Sep

Man-Made Global Warming Climate Change, huh?

Real scientists (ie, physicists) at CERN confirm what every rural person has known all along.

It’s the Sun, stupid:

CERN’s 8,000 scientists may not be able to find the hypothetical Higgs boson, but they have made an important contribution to climate physics, prompting climate models to be revised.

The first results from the lab’s CLOUD (“Cosmics Leaving OUtdoor Droplets”) experiment published in Nature today confirm that cosmic rays spur the formation of clouds through ion-induced nucleation. Current thinking posits that half of the Earth’s clouds are formed through nucleation. The paper is entitled Role of sulphuric acid, ammonia and galactic cosmic rays in atmospheric aerosol nucleation.

This has significant implications for climate science because water vapour and clouds play a large role in determining global temperatures. Tiny changes in overall cloud cover can result in relatively large temperature changes.

Unsurprisingly, it’s a politically sensitive topic, as it provides support for a “heliocentric” rather than “anthropogenic” approach to climate change: the sun plays a large role in modulating the quantity of cosmic rays reaching the upper atmosphere of the Earth.

Veteran science editor Nigel Calder, who brought the theory to wide public attention with the book The Chilling Stars, co-authored with the father of the theory Henrik Svensmark, has an explanation and background on his blog, here, and offers possible reasons on why the research, mooted in the late 1990s, has taken so long.

Svensmark, who is no longer involved with the CERN experiment, says he believes the solar-cosmic ray factor is just one of four factors in climate. The other three are: volcanoes, a “regime shift” that took place in 1977, and residual anthropogenic components.

When Dr Kirkby first described the theory in 1998, he suggested cosmic rays “will probably be able to account for somewhere between a half and the whole of the increase in the Earth’s temperature that we have seen in the last century.”

More from CERN here, and a video here.

What’s that you say, Julia? Bob?

A scientific, IPCC “consensus” that man is to blame, you say?

For a global “warming” that just ain’t happening?

Perhaps you and all these “consensus” scientists might well have heeded one of the most famous scientists of all time:

“No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong

– Albert Einstein

I’ve just sent an email and attached a letter to various politicians, including Barnaby, Senator Williams and Tony Windsor. plus the PM, Julie Bishop and Tony Abbott.

If they still go along with the IPCC & their ‘The Critical Decade’ report that had a disclaimer on it, and want to be a serf to the UNCCF well they are more than incompetent they are negligent and untrustworthy. The Americans are taking to task 12 banks including Goldman Sachs that is one of the biggest in clean energy or green energy and carbon trading. See what happens there. Sell your carbon credits and withdraw investment in clean energy projects. We can’t afford it. The rats are leaving the sinking HMS Climategate, and AGW apologists are now giving out some alarming retractions and
let’s just wait and see more to come.

I’m going to bed, I’ve done my bit now to support skeptical science that is now become reality science.

Decades of government deception are being exposed today on PhysOrg.com:

Deception in government science since 1971, when Henry Kissinger met Chairman Mao secretly:

    a.) Weakened national security,
    b.) Undercut principles of democracy,
c.) Made a mockery of scientific principles,
d.) Destroyed confidence in world leaders, and
e.) Produced the Climate-gate record of 30-years of deception.

Exactly as President Eisenhower warned might happen in his 1961 farewell address:

    With kind regards,

PS – Government deception probably contributed to the current social and economic unrest worldwide

Saw this elsewhere 2 days ago. I was in a debate with an AGW believer in the office yesterday and pointed this out, he said you can’t abstract from an experiment, I told him he was abstracting from a model now proven wrong by empirical science. I finally told him to stop bing a flat earther and accept the science. Gold.

You must be a patient man, John. I find it difficult to remain so if persons insist on holding to “the faith” once it’s been pointed out that AGW “science” is based entirely on models … just like the totally unreliable weather forecasts every evening on the news are based on models too. Fortunately, of late the weather presenter on Their ABC regularly uses the word “models” when talking about the forecast, which helps reinforce the point – I tell folk to watch ABC News and listen carefully to what he says, if they won’t believe that weather forecasting is model-based 😉

I’ve found the word GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) is a good punch phrase in getting the key message across (ie), that since it is all based on modelling, if even one variable or assumption entered in to the model is missing or wrong, even by a tiny amount, then the output prediction is rendered false.

    How INCONVENIENT!! , Mr Gore.

Those pesky astrophysical scientists at CERN. Should be interesting to see how the AGW “Family” of half-arsed, “on the payroll” scientists,(Flannery, etc) and their sponsors in Government, extricate themselves with dignity from their consensus-based positions.

And yes, Bushbunny- woke up to see that the Wall Street prosecutions are only just beginning. It promises to be an interesting run-up to Xmas this year. (ZH has details of filings)

Perhaps “tomorrow” might be OK, but let’s not hold our breath…
