The Beautiful Music Of Lucrezia Morticelli

While having a melancholy morning, I happened to catch a passing glimpse of a music video featuring the actress, Liv Tyler.

Confession: I have long thought her to be, perhaps, the most beautiful woman alive. And recalling to mind the movie Onegin, based on the classic Russian poem by Alexander Pushkin – wherein lies the beginning of your humble blogger’s quiet appreciation of the lovely Ms Tyler – I went surfing on YouTube for clips from this, an old favourite movie.

There, I happened upon a wonderfully serendipitous discovery – the beautiful music of youthful composer, Lucrezia Morticelli

I am amazed – and saddened – that she is not yet a major recording star.

Even more amazed – and saddened – that her Youtube videos have so few views!

I am reminded of the work of French musician, Yann Tiersen –

He is perhaps best known for his soundtrack to the movie Goodbye Lenin, and another all-time favourite of mine, Amélie

Here’s more of Ms Morticelli –

I really do need to move to Italy.

Or perhaps, Russia.

With Liv Tyler 😉

And a collected works of Lucrezia Morticelli.

This is the first time I have heard Lucrezia Morticelli.

My favourite is Angela Gheorghiu. Her rendition of Handels’ “Lascia ch’io pianga” is good for the soul.

This is off topic but the poetic thoughts of this Arab writer in a supposed Christian time are worth reflecting on.
